Experimental study on influence of supply air height on thermal environment in a heated room with impinging jet ventilation system

In an artificial climate chamber with impinging jet ventilation system,investigates the distributions of indoor air temperature and velocity with two heights of supply air. The results show that the height of supply air only affects the reduction of the air temperature close to the floor, while the influence on the vertical distribution of indoor temperature is negligible. The height of supply air has a great effect on the air distributions in the room. The air velocity is decreased near the floor and increased in the zone far away from the floor, when the height of supply air is increased. Due to the higher temperature near the inlet when the supply air height is low, the lower the height of supply air is, the lower the level of resultant draft sensation will be.
